August Favorites | 2017

Posted this early because I know that I posted my June and July faves really late. August is a stressful month. Fortunately, I was able to try new stuffs and some of them are my faves for this month. Without further ado, let’s get started.

  1. 100 Voicemails by Sarah Wazir – my top fave for this month is this book. This is such a tearjerker book and if you wanna read this, prepare lots and lots of Kleenex!
  2. Kissing Is the Easy Part by Christine Duan – this book is a fun read and I like that the guy isn’t that bad boy mysterious type.
  3. Purple Donut – It’s not really a purple donut but it has a purple frosting and it tastes sweet and delicious.
  4. Socratic – Just like Photomath, this app is very helpful.
  5. Mary Kay TimeWise 3-In-1 Cleansing Bar Soap – I like this because it’s hydrating and it makes the skin really smooth. I have no problem with the scent because it doesn’t smell like anything at all. Also this comes with a soap dish.
  6. Mary Kay Mint Bliss – Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs. At first, I don’t like this because of the scent, it has a minty smell by the way. I am not a fan of products that has a similar scent to this. And at first I don’t like the feeling after you applied the product. But as you get used to the product, you’ll like the cooling sensation that it gives.
  7. Tony Moly Peachh Lip Balm – This doesn’t doesn’t have a taste, but it smells heavenly!! It’s also hydrating and I do recommend you to try this one.
  8. 1010! – I cant stop playing this! It’s so addicting!
  9. This Is Gospel by PATD – I’ve been singing this all the time this month, idk why😂
  10. Me And You Against The World by Keke Palmer & Max Schneider – To stop myself from singing This Is Gospel, I played this song. And now I cant stop singing both songs. By the way, if you know the movie Rags, comment down below.
  11. The Drake and Josh theme song – Unlike This Is Gospel and Me And You Against The World, my addiction to this song is tolerable. The old Nickelodeon shows have the best theme songs!!! They’re the bomb!

That’s all for this month! Feel free to comment your faves this month. See you on my next blog post!

Kissing Is the Easy Part by Christine Duan

Title: Kissing Is the Easy Part

Author: Christine Duan (rainbowbrook)

Synopsis from Wattpad:

Flora is afraid being beautiful is her only talent. Some of the words she hates include economy class, second-hand clothes, and budget. She likes fashion, dating, not being on time and getting what she wants – until she meets Sean, who is like the clock striking midnight; he makes all her magic power wear off.

He is as mature and sophisticated as the dark roasted coffee he drinks, while she is like a lollipop: colorful, dazzling on the outside but empty calories and artificial sweeteners on the inside.

The attraction is instant, but getting a kiss is only the first step.

Another good book from Wattpad!

Reading this book is like a breathe of fresh air. Finally, I found a book that is not about bad boys and the nerds. Though, this mentioned the words “nerd” and “badboy” a lot of times but this book isn’t the typical book. It’s different, funny and a good read.

I don’t want to be a spoiler so I’ll just proceed to what I don’t like and like about this book.

  1. Sean and Flora argue a lot. They broke up because of an argument. And they fight almost every chapter!! They’re like cats and dogs, they cant spend an entire day without fighting. But at the end they always say sorry to each other and everything is fine again.
  2. Raymond. He should know his limits. He’s Flora’s friend but Flora’s already dating Sean! He’s still a funny guy tho. I ship him and Sandra.

That’s all! I cant remember what else I didn’t like.

fipp1.   Sean and Flora. Even if they fight a lot, I think they’re relationship goals.

2.  Sean. He’s not a bad boy, he’s not mysterious at all, and he’s a little bit nerdy which is kinda cute. He cares about his future and he studies a lot, which is new (for a main guy role) because most of the leading men in Wattpad are the bad boy stereotype.

3. Flora. I’m glad Flora isn’t the stereotype popular girl. She may not be that smart but she can do well if she wanted to. Also, I could relate to her whenever she talks about designer brands and fashion. She’s also funny.

4. Sandra. She’s brutally honest, she reminds me of me.

5. There’s a sequel. Then ending left me hanging and I’m so glad there’s a sequel.

RATING: 4 / 5

My book review may or may not be convincing but trust me, this book is worth a shot! If you want to read this book, click here.

100 Voicemails by Sarah Wazir

Book Title: 100 Voicemails

Author: Sarah Wazir (BookgirlingMoments on Wattpad)

Synopsis from Wattpad:

After a car accident, seventeen year old Steve Carlton, goes into a coma. When he does wake up after a few months, he suffers from temporary memory loss. During this time, he starts to go through his messages and voicemails on his cellphone, trying to get a clue of who he used to be.

Voicemails sent to him from a girl called Ari might have the answers to his questions.

A story told through voicemails.

Hello loves! I’m sorry I wasn’t able to post these past few weeks because my internet connection is not cooperating and I’m kinda busy in school. Anyway, I’m back again for another book review.

I was hesitant to read this at first because it’s a short story and it has 100 chapters. 😂 Though, the chapters are short and I finished reading this in just one sitting.

To be honest, I don’t want to say much about this book because I don’t want to be a spoiler. I just wanna say that this is a really good book. I cried a river after I finished reading it. This book is touching and it will leave you an emotional mess.

Lastly, if you’re reading this, please don’t be like Ari. If you have problems, please talk to someone you can fully trust. If you want to cry, then cry but don’t forget to be happy. Suicide is never the answer. Life is beautiful and so are you.

This book is now one of my favs and I do recommend this to you. Give this book a shot because you’ll like it. And if you’re planning on reading this book, prepare boxes of Kleenex. This book will make you an emotional mess.

By the way, I talked to the author and she’s really nice!!

July Favorites | 2017

July is really a fun month. I was able to try a few things and some of them became my favorite this month. And here are some of them:

  1. Iced White Mocha – Grande Wednesday is back for this month y’all! The taste is not too intense for my liking. I like this better than the Iced Cafe Mocha because that’s way too much for me.
  2. Oreos – Who doesn’t like oreos??? I love anything with oreos in it!
  3. Snow – I still prefer SchapChat but this app has many cute filters and it’s so fun to play with.
  4. Baby Powder – I’m using the one with the blue cap (I have no idea what it’s called) from Johnsons. I like it better than the normal or the plain white one because it smells so good.
  5. Barbie movies – Lately I’ve been watching many Barbie movies and I’m just smiling throughout the movies because it reminds me of my childhood…
  6. Everwing – Been playing this game since summer and just this July, I’ve been trying to beat my highscore. This is fun especially if you’re playing with your friends.

That’s all for this month! I’m sorry this is late. My internet connection isn’t cooperating and it’s so annoying! 😭 Anyway, what are your faves for this month? Feel free to comment them down below.

Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #3)

Book Tittle: Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #3)

Author: Jenny Han

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Lara Jean’s letter-writing days aren’t over in this surprise follow-up to the New York Times bestselling To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You.alw2.jpg

Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.

But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.

When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

I waited for days and when the book finally came out, I waited again like 2 or 3 days before visiting the bookstore just to make sure that they have it already. Unfortunately, I waited few more days again before I got the book because the NBS branch in my place doesn’t have any stock yet. AND I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I FINALLY GOT THE BOOK!

After reading the second book, I don’t think that it’s necessary to have a third book. Though, it’s okay because we could see them grow and what will happen to Lara Jean and Peter K in the future…

I AM SO HAPPY WHILE READING THIS BOOK! I’m fangirling so much!!

dnt best.gif

I just don’t like the unnecessary dramas. I feel like a book cant be a book without the drama. WHY IS THERE ALWAYS DRAMA? Anyway, this book is really good. I delayed reading the book because I don’t want to finish Lara Jean and Peter’s story yet.

John Ambrose McClaren needs more scenes! I don’t ship him and Lara Jean but I think that he deserves more lines… He’s so precious and I want to know more about him.

What happened to Stormy is the most unexpected thing ever! What the fuck was that? I hate that part. Why would you do that to Stormy?????

The family drama is somehow relatable and realistic. There are more Song girls moments and new addition to the family. And Kitty is still a badass, glad that didn’t changed. Plus the cookies and all that baking stuff is so annoying (not in a bad way) IT MADE ME HUNGRY. Don’t read any of the books in the trilogy if you’re hungry!

“I don’t want to forget any of this. The way he’s looking at me at this very moment. How, when he kisses me, I still get shivers down my back, every time. I want to hold on to everything so tight.”

I’m really happy that this book gave more depth to Peter’s character. His character development is starting to feel more real. I like that this story is not just about Lara Jean. I think it’s a good idea that Jenny Han added some scenes regarding Peter and his relationship with his father.

Plus Lara Jean and Peter’s relationship gets more color. They’re not facing problems withalww Genevieve anymore. They’re starting to feel like a real couple to me now. I don’t know what’s ahead of them but I hope they’ll stay together forever. I really like the end of this book. It had me smiling with heart eyes emoji!

I want to read the whole trilogy again someday. And when I do, it will always leave a smile on my face.

This trilogy is light and simple that’s why I like it so much. Hands down to Jenny Han for creating these 3 amazing books!

Lastly, I bought the copy with the freebies! Thank you for adding the stickers! They are so cute💓

RATING: 4.5/5

I gave this book a 4.5 over 5 because it’s simple but it has a big impact on my life. Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky are like a real person to me now. I’ll miss them!!

P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #2)

Book Tittle: P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #2)

Author: Jenny Han

Synopsis from Goodreads:ps1

Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter. She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever. When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of what makes it so amazing.

So the first book ended with a cliffhanger and I’ve been dying to read this after I finished reading the first one. This is the kind of book that will got you hooked. It’s not boring and it’s really enjoying to read.

I don’t know what to feel about this book. There are so many emotions that I felt while reading this book. MY SHIP HAS FINALLY SAILED!

Unlike the first book, I like everything about this book except one thing. I don’t like the unnecessary drama. I avoid dramas. Well I get it you need to have drama to keep the story going. But y’know cant we just solve this problem real quick so we can move on with our lives? That’s what I felt while reading this book.

I admire Peter for standing up for Lara Jean. And thank goodness Lara Jean isn’t blind! At least she have an idea who took the video. She’s not like those naive girl character whom the enemy is already in front of her but chose to look at the opposite direction. Ya get me? Coz that’s what I felt while reading this book.

gif clap

Then there’s John Ambrose McClaren. I don’t know what to feel for him at first. And as the story goes I kinda wished that it’s him and Lara Jean at the end. But at the same time I also wished Peter K and Lara Jean will be the end game.

  1. The unnecessary drama. That shit prolonged the story! If Lara Jean figured out about this thing going on between Peter and Genevieve, they wouldn’t broke up. And they’ll live happily ever after.
  2. John Ambrose McClaren. Just to be clear, I love this McClaren guy. What I don’t like is Lara Jean kinda lead him on… She could’ve said it earlier that she and Peter were dating.

  1. Stormy! I love her character so much because she reminds me of my grandma. And she’s a badass!
  2. Food is life. There’s too much food. Food is everywhere. They keep on talking about food like a lot. A LOT. And they made me hungry!
  3. My ship is sailing! Although it kinda sank somewhere in the story but it managed to sink again. I’m really happy MY SHIP HAS FINALLY SAILED!

Rating: 4/5

I gave this book a 4 out of 5 because it’s a good book. I really think that reading the whole trilogy is perfect for the summer. After reading the ending, I don’t think that it needs a 3rd book. But anyways, I’m so excited to read the last book. That’s all for this review.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Book Tittle: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Author: Jenny Han

Synopsis from Goodreads:jh1

Lara Jean’s love life gets complicated in this New York Times bestselling “lovely, lighthearted romance” from the New York Times bestselling author of The Summer I Turned Pretty series.

What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them… all at once?

Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS BOOK! It’s really cute and adorable. Also, the characters were doing their job well, because the characters aren’t like the others who will suddenly appear or disappear. I like that the characters have a purpose and not just one of those extras in the story.

I have read a lot of books and because of that, it’s easier for me to predict whats actually gonna happen in the story. This book is kinda predictable (for me) but nevertheless it’s still a cute story that will make me read it again and again.

“Love is scary: it changes; it can go away. That’s the part of the risk. I don’t want to be scared anymore.”

At first, I don’t really know what to feel about this book. I’ve heard a lot about this book. Others said it’s good and of course there are some who didn’t like it. So anyways, I decided to give this book a try because I really want to read this and I have no time. The start of the story was fine and then there goes the bomb. I actually thought that the whole story will revolve around Margot and Josh.

Margot and Josh broke up and then Lara Jean started talking about her feelings for Josh. And OMG I almost didn’t finished the story because of that! Like come on Josh is her sister’s ex! Have some decency, Lara Jean! 😂 Josh is off limits!

Then Peter K came into the picture. That’s the main reason why I continued reading this book.

Let’s fast forward. Lara Jean and Peter are in a fake relationship. Starting from that part onward is what I like the most. I’m not really a fan of the beginning of this story.

Also, this book mentioned TOO MUCH FOOD! It made me hungry!

“You’d rather make up a fantasy version of somebody in your head than be with a real person.”

  1. Josh. Just to clarify things, I don’t hate Josh. I just don’t like that he keeps on meddling about Lara Jean’s personal life. And Margot’s his ex WHY DID HE KISSED HER SISTER? Though, I like that he acts like an older brother to Kitty and Lara Jean.
  2. The ending. It’s a cliffhanger yo!

  1. PETER KAVINSKY. Can I have him for Christmas? I really want a Peter K!
  2. Sister goals! Margot, Lara Jean and Kitty are the definition of sister goals!
  3. Kitty. She’s a badass! I want her to be my sister. She’s sometimes funny and I can believe what she did to Lara Jean’s letters. 😂
  4. I learned more about baking. This book isn’t just a love story, it’s also educational. 😂
  5. Relatable. This story also talks about family, school and not just love.

Rating: 4/5

I gave this story a 4 over 5 because it’s really a cute story and it’s a perfect summer read. Peter Kavinsky made my summer a lot better!

Do I recommend this story? Yes. I wouldn’t recommend a story if it’s not worth reading. If you haven’t read this story yet, you should. You might like it as well.
